Both male and female students from all over Papua New Guinea receive classroom and hands-on training at Kapuna Hospital. Throughout the semester, they are sent on practicals to surrounding villages.
At their village placements, the students put into practice their recent learning which entails community assessment projects, hygiene, health education, and clinics.
Due to so many remote, hard-to-reach places in PNG, CHWs are vital to the health and well-being of much of PNG’s population.
